About this property

Welcome to The Mushroom House. Located at the end of a private road, the house is less than 4 miles from Manchester's outlet shopping, gorgeous hiking and unmatched dining. Our property features an open floor plan main floor with a kitchen, dining and living area that neighbors the master bedroom and bath. The back deck is a accented with string lights, a grill and comfortable outdoor furniture. Down stairs has two guest rooms with queens beds, a full bathroom and a den with full futon and tv. The mushroom house is on a 1.5 acre piece of property with a large Adirondack bonfire pit and creek side hammock accessed by a custom cut trail through the woods. This house is great during any month and is suitable for families, reunions or people looking to get way for the weekend. With an indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit it is important to mention that whatever firewood is there can be used but we do not guarantee there will be firewood stocked. The same goes for charcoal/propane for the grills. The best place to buy these supplies is at Shaw’s or Price Chopper in town. We do not split up weekends, Friday and Saturday nights must be booked together Stays during Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day are three days minimum, Friday to Monday, at the weekend rate. Additional days on the front or back end of the trip are permitted and will be charged the standard rate for that day. This house does not have air conditioning and hot summer days can get humid. There are dehumidifiers at the house and windows and doors can be opened for a nice cross breeze. Pets are allowed on a case by case basis and depending on the animal breed and size. This house was amazing! We felt right at home. The views were spectacular. It was the perfect location for us to spend the day at Stratton village. 10 out of 10!

We LOVED our stay at the Mushroom House. We came as a family to ski and the location between Stratton and Manchester was perfect. It is right off main road so easy to get right up to ski and as opposed to staying at Stratton, we enjoyed being closer to Manchester for restaurants, Northshire books, grocery store, shopping. It did feel remote though with a Maple syrup house on the road and a babbling brook in the woods behind the house. It snowed a lot and a professional snowplower was quick to keep road and driveway plowed. The house was stocked with firewood, toiletries, games and tons of linens and Austin was so friendly and helpful about everything. We stayed for 16 nights and we will definitely plan to come back!!!!

We had a wonderful second stay at the Mushroom House and look forward to a third. It’s cozy, has everything you need, is pet friendly and is minutes from Manchester. Wonderful spot and hosts!

The location is amazing, with a creek down a short path and Manchester a very quick drive away. The house is old and could definitely use some updates. The Adirondack chairs around the fire pit are literally falling apart. While the house filled all of our needs as far as bedrooms and bathrooms, it definitely needs a little love

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay. The mushroom house is cozy, clean, and close to lots of places to explore while also feeling appropriately secluded! The house has a nice rustic charm without being too kitschy or fake. It just feels genuine. I would note there are a few areas outside that could use some clean up and repair, but they in no way detracted from the stay, probably more attributed to the seasonal changeover and winterization going on than anything. The king sized bed on the main floor was heavenly, and we took advantage of the wonderful fireplace most of the nights during our stay. The little deck was perfect for relaxing with morning coffee, and the little walking path was a perfect little stroll for our 15 year old lab to feel like he was going on a fun adventure with us! Definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting the area, and we would be happy to book again if we return to the area too!
